● Curcumin is a pigment extracted from turmeric of the zingiberaceae plant and also found in other zingiberaceae plants. Modern studies have found that curcumin can inhibit inflammatory response, antioxidant, anti~rheumatoid effect. 

● Viti vitamin magazine in the United States reported: "The main pharmacological effects of curcumin are antioxidant, anti~inflammatory, anticoagulant, lipid·lowering, anti~atherosclerosis, anti~aging elimination of free radicals.

● Animal studies at Duke University have shown that curcumin in curry breaks down amyloid protein in the brains of mice and prevents its production. While high levels of amyloid build~up in the brain are the main cause of Alzheimer's disease, eating curry between one and three times a week could prevent dementia.
