How Is Glutathione Produced?

Guanjie Biotech primarily uses two production technologies for glutathione bulk powder: the enzymatic method and the fermentation method. Both processes are designed to ensure consistent quality, high glutathione content, and reliable large-scale production.

One of the most common production routes is the extraction of glutathione from yeast cells. Special strains of brewer's yeast or baker's yeast are cultivated under carefully controlled fermentation conditions to accumulate high levels of intracellular glutathione. During fermentation, factors such as temperature, pH, oxygen supply, and nutrient composition are optimized to maximize glutathione production.

After the fermentation process is completed, the yeast cells are harvested and separated from the fermentation broth. The cells are then disrupted using physical or enzymatic techniques to release the glutathione stored inside the cells. Following cell disruption, the extract undergoes a series of purification steps to remove proteins, polysaccharides, pigments, and other impurities.
