Function:

The active ingredient of Chinese red yeast rice extract is Monacolin-K, it can inhibit cholesterol synthesis rate-limiting enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase), and also has cholesterol-lowering effects, low-density blood lipids, triglycerides and other effects. Monacolin-K is a new and highly effective lipid-lowering product, which can effectively reduce total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), triglycerides (TG), and increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) that is beneficial to the human body.

 

Studies have shown that Monacolin-K contained in natural special red yeast rice has a specific inhibitory effect on hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA (HMG-CoA) reductase, and its mechanism of action is:

•Effectively inhibit the action of hepatic hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA (HMG-CoA) reductase, reduce human cholesterol synthesis, and reduce intracellular cholesterol storage;

• Promote LDL receptor synthesis, increase the activity and number of LDL receptors, strengthen the uptake and metabolism of LDL cholesterol, and reduce the concentration of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in the blood, thereby effectively preventing atherosclerosis;

• Inhibit the synthesis of fatty acids and triglycerides in the liver, promote the excretion of lipids, thereby reducing the level of triglycerides in the blood;

• Monacolin K can also increase the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), which is beneficial to the human body, thereby preventing atherosclerosis and even reversing atherosclerosis.
