What Is Marigold Extract Powder?

Lutein is mainly present in Marigold flowers in the form of diesters. In the preparation of lutein monomer from marigold flowers, the lutein ester was first removed from the lutein flower. In the process of preparing lutein monomer from marigold flowers, the lutein ester is first extracted from the flower tissue and then hydrolyzed into monomer.

That is: Lutein ester (esterified, mixture); lutein is free and is a monomer. Under the same light and heat Lutein esters are more stable than lutein under the same light and heat conditions; lutein esters are less mobile than lutein.

Lutein and lutein esters are stable under alkaline conditions, but not under strong acid conditions.
