Brief Introduction

Pyrethrum extract is extracted from pyrethrum.It is a light yellow oily viscous substance with very low vapor pressure and almost insoluble in water. It is easily soluble in organic solvents, such as alcohols, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and nitromethane. The activity of pyrethrins is rapidly hydrolyzed in alkaline liquids and consequently loses its insecticidal activity. Its synergist has a stabilizing effect.

Synthesis route 

● The dried pyrethrum flowers were crushed and passed through 80 mesh sieve to facilitate fuller absorption of microwave energy.

● The average amount of pyrethrins per 100ka of dried flowers is L.69kg by the combination of supercritical CO2 extraction method and sand extraction method.

● The dried pollen of pyrethrum containing 1.69% pyrethrins in the crushed dried flowers) and water (5.03%) was taken in 10 parts.

● These were placed in open containers, each with 300 ml of acetonitrile/hexane extraction solvent (medium constant 1.9, transparent to microwaves), sealed and infiltrated for 5h.

● Then we carried out microwave irradiation extraction used power 625W, frequency 2450MHz, irradiation time 40s, filter the residue

● Finally, we extract the solvent by vacuum evaporation of acetonitrile/hexane to obtain pyrethrins, and acetonitrile/hexane can be reused.

Precautions:
