Rhodiola Extract Powder is the root of rhodiola rosea extract, with a sweet aroma and bitter taste. What Is The Source of Rhodiola Extract Powder?

Rhodiola Extract Powder is from rosea rosea, which is mainly distributed in northeast China, Gansu, Xinjiang, Sichuan, Xizang and Yunnan-Guizhou provinces. The main effective components of rosea rosea extract are Salidroside C14H20O7, Tyroso1 C6H10O2, Also contain starch, protein, fat, tannins, flavonoids, phenolic compounds and trace volatile oil, still contain bioactive trace elements iron, aluminum, zinc, silver, titanium, molybdenum, cobalt, cadmium, manganese, etc., leaf and stem contains a small amount of alkaloids, used for fatigue resistance, anti-aging, and improve the mental and physical function, etc.

 

What Does Rhodiola Extract Powder Do?

● When the concentration of 95% ethanol Rhodiola Extract Powder was 1mg/ml, the bacteriostasis rate against botrytis cinerea reached 0.523, and the bacteriostasis rate against the black spot of Chinese cabbage reached 0.490.

● When the concentration of 95% ethanol extract of rhodiola floretum was 1mg/ml, the bacteriostasis rate against botrytis cinerea reached 0.404, and the bacteriostasis rate against black spot of Chinese cabbage reached 0.449. At the concentration of 1mg/ml, the inhibition rate of 95% of Rhodiola Extract Powder against Botrytis cinerea reached 0.510 and 0.337, respectively. 

● The inhibitory rate of ethyl acetate extract of RHOdiola magnifera against Botrytis cinerea reached 0.580 when the concentration was 0.1mg/ mL, and the inhibitory rate of ethyl acetate elution of RHOdiola magnifera against Botrytis cinerea reached 0.690 when the concentration was 0.1mg/ mL. 

● The inhibitory rate of ethyl acetate extract of RHOdiola davidii against P. nigrospot was 0.406 when the concentration was 0.1mg/ mL, and the inhibitory rate of ethyl acetate elution of RHOdiola davidii against P. nigrospot was 0.376 when the concentration was 0.1mg/ mL. The results indicated that rhodiola extract powder could be used to prepare the inhibitors of botrytis cinerea and Black spot of Chinese cabbage.

 

What Is Rhodiola Extract Powder Used For?

● Antioxidant-used as a cosmetic additive to slow down the aging process. 

The antioxidant capacity of Rhodiola Extract Powder was measured by the experimental DPPH● (1 1 1-diphenyl-2-nitrophenylhydrazine) method, and the greater the scavenging rate, the stronger the antioxidant capacity.

In the cosmetic industry, Vc, one of the substances with the strongest radical scavenging activity, is commonly used as a positive control to evaluate the radical scavenging ability of a substance, and the closer the scavenging effect is to Vc, the better the antioxidant effect of the substance. 

As can be seen from the figure below, the scavenging rate of free radicals by Rhodiola rosea extract with a mass fraction of 0.4% almost reached the level of VC solution at the same concentration, indicating that it has good in vitro antioxidant properties and can be used as a cosmetic additive to slow down the aging process. 

 

● Prevent dark brown pigmentation and dark brown spots, used as a whitening cosmetic additive

The formation of melanin and dark brown spots is mainly due to the formation of dopamine and other substances in the body catalyzed by tyrosine kinase, and rhodiola rosea can inhibit tyrosine kinase activity, which can prevent melanin deposition and dark brown spots.

The efficacy in whitening was tested by inhibiting tyrosine kinase activity, and arbutin was used as a positive control to compare their whitening efficacy. Rhodiola Extract Powder Arbutin is an internationally recognized substance that can inhibit tyrosinase activity and has a whitening effect. 

Rhodiola Extract Powder can effectively inhibit the activity of tyrosinase at a low concentration, blocking the conversion of tyrosine into melanin catalyzed by tyrosinase in the skin, thus reducing the production of melanin and achieving whitening effect. Therefore, arbutin is generally used as a positive control in the cosmetic industry to evaluate the whitening efficacy of a substance. 

The closer the effect of tyrosinase inhibition is to arbutin, the better the effect of tyrosinase inhibition is, thus reducing melanin formation and achieving a whitening effect. As can be seen from the figure below, the ability to inhibit tyrosinase is basically close to that of Rhodiola Extract Powder solution at the same concentration, which proves that it has certain whitening efficacy and can be used as a whitening cosmetic additive.
