Extraction methods:

This is one of Guanjie's extraction methods to get B-Arbutin powder, follow the steps below:

● Materials:

- Beta Arbutin powder

- Hydrochloric acid (HCl)

- Distilled water

- Sodium hydroxide (NaOH)

- Neutralizer (such as sodium carbonate)

● Method:

1. Weigh out the desired amount of Beta Arbutin sample powder you want to hydrolyze and transfer it into a clean and dry beaker.

2. Add 1M hydrochloric acid (HCl) to the beaker containing the B-Arbutin bulk powder, and mix well.

3. Pour the mixture into a flask and add distilled water to bring the volume to a desirable level.

4. Boil the mixture under reflux for 4-6 hours, or until the solution becomes colorless.

5. Once the hydrolysis is complete, allow the mixture to cool down to room temperature.

6. Neutralize the solution using a sodium carbonate solution until it reaches pH 7.

7. Filter the mixture to remove any solid impurities.

8. Add sodium hydroxide (NaOH) dropwise until the pH reaches 9-10.

9. Evaporate the solution to dryness.

10. Dissolve the product in a desired solvent to obtain Beta Arbutin hydrolysis product.
