Product Introduction:

Magnolol powder is an organic compound that is a brown to white fine powder. It has a fragrant, spicy, and slightly bitter taste, and its monomer is a colorless needle crystal in water. The molecular formula is C18H18O2, and the melting point is 102 °C. It is soluble in benzene, ether, chloroform, acetone, and common organic solvents. It is insoluble in water and easily soluble in dilute caustic alkali solution to obtain sodium salt. When reacted with ferric chloride methanol solution, it turns blue-black. With Millen's reagent, a brown precipitate appears, and with phloroglucinol hydrochloric acid solution, a red precipitate appears. The phenolic hydroxyl group is easy to be oxidized, while the allyl group is easy to undergo an addition reaction. It is a tan to white fine powder of Magnolia Bark Extract, the active ingredient in the antibacterial effect of the Magnolia officinalis Rehder et Wilson bark.
