4. Experiment Procedure

4.1Instrumentation:

6.Preparation of Standard Solution

Accurately weigh out 60-80mg pyrethrins reference standard sample, put it into the 100 ml volumetric flask, dissolve it with anhydrous ethanol, and then shake well and set aside.

7.Preparation of Sample Solution

Accurately weigh out 30-40mg pyrethrin oil sample, put it into 100 ml volumetric flask, dissolve it with anhydrous ethanol, and then shake well and set aside.

Process producing  

It involves several stages, including cultivation, harvesting, extraction, and purification.

● Cultivation: 

The first step is to cultivate chrysanthemum flowers. These flowers are typically grown in areas with temperate or tropical climates with well-drained, sandy soil. The cultivation process involves planting the seeds or seedlings in the soil, followed by regular watering and fertilization to ensure healthy growth. After a few weeks, the flowers begin to bloom, and the plants are ready for harvesting.

● Harvesting:

The next step is to harvest the flowers. The flowers are usually picked by hand since machines can damage the delicate flowers. Harvesting is typically done in the morning when the temperature is cooler to avoid damage to the flowers during transportation.

● Extraction:

After harvesting, the flowers are taken to the extraction facility, where they are crushed, and the pyrethrins oil is extracted. The most common method of extraction is the use of solvents, which involves soaking the flowers in a solvent like hexane or ethanol. The solvent dissolves the pyrethrins bulk oil, which is then separated from the solvent through a distillation process.

● Purification:

The final step in the production process is the purification of the pyrethrin liquid oil. Purification is necessary to remove any impurities and ensure that the final product is of high quality. The purified pyrethrin oil is then stored in airtight containers to prevent oxidation and degradation.
