In the lower part of the digestive tract, it is mainly decomposed into steviol by microorganisms in the cecum and partially absorbed. It is then excreted by bile and enters the enterohepatic circulation. In the end, most of the stevioside powder is excreted from the feces in the form of steviol, and only a small part is excreted through urine. Its calories are indirectly generated by short-chain fatty acids produced by fermentation and utilization of colon intestinal microorganisms, about 6.3kcal/g.
