The Polydatin Powder is extracted from the dried rhizome of Polygonum cuspidatum. Polygonum cuspidatum is a perennial shrubby herb, which can reach 1 m or more. Extraction Methods:

Polydatin Powder is a natural polyphenol compound. It is found in many plants such as grapes, peanuts and tiger nuts. It has various biological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer. Therefore, the extraction of resveratrol glycosides from natural resources has important research and application value. The following are the common extraction methods of Polydatin and their specific processes:

I. Solvent extraction method
● Material preparation
Select plant materials rich in resveratrol glycosides. Such as grape skin, grape seed, tiger nut root, etc.. Clean the plant material, dry it and crush it into fine powder.Guanjie Biotech uses tiger nut extract.

● Solvent selection
We use ethanol because of its high extraction efficiency and low toxicity.

● Extraction process
The crushed plant material is mixed with the solvent in a certain ratio (e.g. 1:10) and placed in an ultrasonic extractor. Extraction is carried out at a certain temperature (e.g. 50°C) and time (e.g. 30 minutes). Then filter and collect the filtrate.

● Solvent recovery
The filtrate was distilled under reduced pressure in a rotary evaporator to recover the solvent and obtain the crude extract.

● Purification
Using column chromatography, the crude extract was passed through a column filled with silica gel or macroporous resin and eluted with an ethanol-water gradient to collect the fractions containing resveratrol glycosides.

● Crystallisation
The purified fraction was concentrated and placed at low temperature for crystallisation to obtain pure Polydatin Powder.

 

2. Supercritical CO2 extraction method
● Material preparation
Same as the solvent extraction method, select and treat the plant material. 2.
● Supercritical CO2 equipment
Supercritical CO2 extraction equipment includes high-pressure pump, extraction kettle, separator and so on.
● Extraction process
Place the plant material in the extraction kettle. (Adjust the CO2 pressure to supercritical state). Control the temperature at 40-60°C. Pass supercritical CO2 into the extraction kettle. Dissolve the resveratrol glycosides in the plant.
● Separation
Separate the resveratrol glycosides from the supercritical CO2 by lowering the pressure or increasing the temperature and collect the Polydatin Powder.
